Production Concept Unit: Initial Idea
Here is my initial idea for the production concept unit. I am going to do research into web series that are currently online to see if there is already anything like my idea out there. If this is the case, then I will adapt my idea to give it it's own unique selling point.
Content
Story of an 18 year old male who has just left compulsory education, and is now trying, along with his two best friends, to secure himself a full time job in his chosen career. The trouble is, he doesn’t know what that career is. The pilot episode sees him lurch from one disastrous job to another, with hilarious consequences. Upon leaving college, he has a HNC in Electrical Installation, and he has done a work placement with an installation company called Prestige Installations and Specialist Systems (PISS). So, naturally, the first job he applies for is with the same company. He is accepted, but sacked within a week after he manages to leave an entire street without power after drilling through a mains cable. His two friends have followed him into this career, and are just as clumsy as he is, although perhaps not the brightest sparks (ho ho!)
The second job he applies for is as an apprentice with Specialist High Integrity Technologies (SHIT, for short). During this job, all sorts of carnage unfolds, his friends persuade him to try and find out the top speed of the company van, and naturally it ends up in a ditch, much to the dismay of our young friend here. Also, whilst completing an installation in a customers house, he manages to spill his tea all over a freshly installed socket, thus blowing it up. This results in him being sacked from this job as well, and the episode ends with him queuing up outside the job centre, for the third time in a year, much to his annoyance.
